OUR STORY

Please allow me to introduce you to Metro 8 – a dining experience unlike any other in the Triangle. Located at 1116 Broad Street in Durham, Metro 8 offers a twist on the classic American steakhouse.

Along with the traditional steaks and chops, diners can experience several dishes that reflect the chef/owner Francisco Pirillo’s Argentinean heritage. You can start with crab stuffed shrimp, move on to a classic filet mignon, and finish up with chocolate soufflé. Or you could begin your meal with empanadas, follow that with a churrasco steak and chimichurri, and conclude with our signature dulce de leche crêpes. Along with the delicious steaks, all of which are cut on premises, Metro 8 offers entrees that appeal to all tastes including homemade fettuccine porcini, sushi-grade herb crusted tuna, and bone-in chicken breast dishes.

The simple yet elegant menu is further enhanced by the atmosphere – always inviting, never pretentious or stuffy. Husband-and-wife owners Pirillo and Cassandra Ramos used soft, clean hues of beige and white complemented by a rich hardwood floor and bar to create an incredibly peaceful, open dining area reminiscent of South Florida hot spots. Most importantly, dining at Metro 8 does not have to be reserved for special occasions only. Mid-range prices combined with extended dining hours make the restaurant accessible to everyone.
